Joint Replacement Pre-Op Class

Patients who plan to undergo Joint Replacement Surgery are expected by their orthopaedic surgeons to attend the Joint Academy Pre-Op Class.

Joint Replacement In-Person Pre-Op Class

You will be signed up to take the free in-person Joint Academy class at your surgeon’s office when your surgery is booked. This class is for you and your coach to help you to better understand what to expect with your joint replacement process from admission to after discharge.

This interactive educational program is coordinated and taught by the Windham Hospital Orthopedic Nurse Navigator. Classes are available at various times during the month.

Our goal is to provide you with seamless, compassionate care based on best-practices, latest techniques and to see you on your road to recovery. Soon you’ll be enjoying your life and the activities you love. Representatives from the following areas will be available to offer information and answer questions specific to your individual needs.

Meet your Team

  • The nurse navigator will explain and provide education on what occurs, before, during and after hospitalization.
  • An orthopaedic floor nurse will discuss what to expect with nursing care while you are a patient in the hospital.
  • The Case Manager will talk to you about the equipment you will need after your surgery and plans after-hospital for home care.
