Windham Hospital Endocrinologist to Host Free Talk On Preventing and Living with Diabetes

Willimantic—Hartford HealthCare Medical Group and Windham Hospital Endocrinologist Fadi Al-Khayer, MD, will host a free community talk on diabetes control and prevention on Monday, June 2, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Mansfield Community Center at 10 South Eagleville Road in Storrs.

The presentation—“How Sweet It Is: A Frank Discussion About Preventing and Living with Diabetes”—will also include a discussion and samples of the Mediterranean diet by Windham Hospital dietitians and free glucose screenings.

The community education event is third in a series hosted by Windham Hospital, Hartford HealthCare Medical Group and the Windham Hospital Rehabilitation Network at the community center. The event coincides with the opening of Hartford HealthCare Medical Group’s newest Family Health Center located at 1244 Storrs Road in the Storrs Common Plaza (near Starbucks). The Center offers residents primary care, endocrinology, extended hours for urgent care and rehabilitation.
