Two Named to Windham Hospital Board of Directors

Internist Edward Sawicki, MD, and Storrs attorney Stephen M. Bacon were approved as new members of the Windham Hospital Board of Directors during the hospital’s Board of Corporators Annual Meeting on January 16, 2014.
Sawicki is a practicing internal medicine physician who has been active at Windham Hospital since the 1970's. He was Chief of Staff from 1984 and 1985, was the Windham Physician Hospital organization President from 1996 to 2006 and was named the Windham Hospital Physician of the Year in 1998. He serves on the Board of Directors of Colonial Cooperative Care in Norwich, Chairs the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA East) Hospice Advisor Council, and serves on the Board of Directors for St. Joseph Living Center. He is a Founding Partner of the Med East medical Walk-in Center in Willimantic.
Bacon, is a Partner in the legal firm of Kahan, Kerensky & Capossela, in Storrs, with a focus on real estate transactions and probate administration. Bacon is Vice-President of the Board of Directors of the Mansfield, has served as Chairman of Mansfield's Charter Revision Commission, counsel for Joshua's Tract Conservation and Historic Trust, Inc. and as Mansfield's Town Moderator. Attorney Bacon is a Paul Harris Fellow and recipient of Mansfield's Community Business Award.
